Jessica and Steven’s Newton Hall wedding was a fantastic day filled with fun, laughs and emotion. Newton Hall in Northumberland is a cool, quirky wedding venue situated just a stones throw from the beautiful beaches of the North East coast. Filled with eclectic charm and bold decor Newton Hall is simply a fun place to be.
The sun shone all day which allowed family and guests to fully enjoy everything that a Newton Hall wedding has to offer.
“We fell in love with the venue on first sight after visiting it on an open day. It was different to anything else we had seen with beautiful grounds and well decorated interior”
The day started early with all the preparation that comes with a wedding day for both Bride and Groom.
Jessica and her bridesmaids enjoyed a glass or two of fizz while Hairdresser Meg from Show Off Salon and make up artist Katie Robson worked their magic – not that the girls needed any help.
Steven and his groomsmen got ready in the Newton hall cottages a few minutes down the road and had a relaxing stroll along to the hall while enjoying the sunshine.
Steven looked dapper in his classic three piece suit from Woven in Durham.
Once hair and makeup was done Jess finished her preparation in the beautiful Ginella bedroom situated in the main House.
She looked stunning in her Justin Alexander dress from Wendy at Bridal Wish in Blagdon, Northumberland. Jessica carried completed her look with a white and blush peony bouquet from Lisa at The Wild Bunch. Following the ceremony everyone headed to the lawns in front of the hall to enjoy drinks and nibbles. This gives us a great opportunity to capture those candid wedding photography moments which really help tell the story of the day. Photographs of guests simply enjoying themselves when they don’t even realise they are being photographed are more often than not the Bride and Grooms favourite shots of their wedding day and this is when having two photographers shoot your wedding is invaluable.
The room where the wedding breakfast is served always looks spectacular at a Newton Hall wedding. All signage and place settings were provided The Chief Chalker and Dragonfly events supplied the table decorations. The lovely people at Coco Luminaire supplied the “J & S” lettering.
Jessica and Steve followed the increasingly popular protocol of having their speeches before the meal. Something which David and I wished we had done for our weddings since we were ‘Best Man’ for each other. It certainly allows the speech givers to better enjoy their meal.
We love photographing the speeches as it always provides images of all the emotions from tears to laughter.
After a little more relaxation, drink and chatter it was time to cut the cake lovingly prepared by Gemma from Love Lily Cakes. The straight into the first dance as Mr and Mrs.
