As wedding photographers Northumberland has blessed us with some marvellous wedding venues. Luckily for us, Jodie and Jamie chose us to photograph their wedding at one of our favourites. Find out more about their fantastic summer wedding at Eshott Hall.
Why did you choose your venue? We loved the exclusivity of a Eshott Hall wedding and the fact you had the place all to yourselves for the weekend. But the main reason was for the fact our pride and joy, our Miniature Dachshund Theo could be there with us!
What was the inspiration for your Eshott Hall Wedding? The main inspiration for the wedding was classic, 1940’s Hollywood glamour. Lots of feathers, pearls and general glitz!
What was your wedding colour scheme? The décor, cake and bouquets were all ivory, pearl and gold. Bridesmaids and groomsmen all wore grey and gold to compliment the feel of the wedding.
Tell us about your dress and grooms wear: My dress was a completely beaded and feathered ivory Demetrios gown worn with a simple short veil and jewelled hairpiece. I had 3 pairs of designer shoes, just for good measure! Jamie looked so handsome in a grey check 3-piece suit with gold accessories and a feathered button hole.
Who did your hair and makeup? The lovely Tiffany Vigors did the hair for the bridal party and I loved the overall look she created for everyone. The make-up was done by my friend and amazing make up artist Hannah Lomas. It made it even more special to be able to share a glass of fizz with her and chat whilst getting ready for my big day.
Who did your flowers and what did you chose? All flowers and décor were created by hand by my amazingly talented Mam, and I feel she captured the essence of old Hollywood glamour perfectly. My stunning bouquet made of bejewelled silk flowers and strings of pearls contained all of the favourite flowers of my Nana who is sadly no longer with us.
Are there any other suppliers you would like to mention? The amazing feather centrepieces were supplied by The Whole Sch-bang and perfectly complimented the rest of the theme. I cannot recommend the lovely Fathima at Fab Cakes Newcastle highly enough. She created the most stunning 3-tier gold and ivory wedding cake complete with sugar flowers. I spoke with Fathima regarding ideas for the design of the cake and she completely surpassed anything I could have dreamed of, right down to the edible gold sequins!
What was your favourite part of the day? Our favourite part of the day was just enjoying being with all of our loved ones and seeing they were enjoying their day as much as we were. We just didn’t want the day to end, so much so – we stayed up partying with guests until 3 am!
What is your top tip for another Bride and Groom? Don’t stress the small stuff in the run-up. Your day will go by so quickly and all of the worryings will have been for nothing! Steal a second alone wherever you can on the big day and just take it all in together. Ps. Don’t get tomato sauce on your dress at the end of the night…
How did we do? David and Paul were absolutely fabulous from start to finish of our big day. Nothing ever felt too serious or forced, just two really nice guys wanting to help us capture the best of our big day. No request was too crazy, and that’s coming from the bride who asked to be photographed in a bubble bath with a bottle of Champagne! Our photos were absolutely stunning and we received them super quickly. Would highly recommend Focal Point to anyone planning their big day, you really won’t be disappointed.
Have you any other comments? Thank you guys so much, I would say lets do it all over again but one wedding is expensive enough!
