This Grand Country House is The Perfect Backdrop For Photographs

Beamish Hall Weddings

The grand country house setting for Beamish Hall weddings provide the perfect backdrop for photographs. This 13th-century manor retains much of its original architectural splendour and extensive parklands. There is a variety of different function rooms including The Shaftoe Hall, The Monboucher, The Terrace and our favourite, the Winter Gardens.  Set in the County Durham countryside in the North East we have been privileged to shoot many weddings here over the years.

The outside spaces are ideal for capturing those natural shots of guests chatting or having a stroll around the grounds with the Bride and Groom.

We are specialists in creative wedding photography and work exclusively together at every wedding.

As creative photographers its always an advantage to have options for where we take photos. Beamish Hall is blessed with many great spaces for photography for weddings both inside and outside. The hall looks splendid from all angles so we can utilise the imposing facade with its pillars at the front of the building or at the side of the hall with its pillared terrace in front of the Winter Gardens. The grounds to the front and side of Beamish Hall are ideal for a stroll with the Bride and Groom or the bridal party. We aim to capture all the detail of the day and the shots of guests relaxing and having a drink in the gardens after the ceremony makes for some great candid shots.

We will normally arrive at the venue approximately 2 hours before the ceremony to document the preparations of both the Bride and Groom. We are able to do this because there are always two photographers to shoot your wedding day.

If you are getting ready at the hotel the recently refurbished Lily room which looks out over the grounds of the Hall is perfect. This tastefully decorated room is spacious and light so it is ideal for getting shots of the Bride and Bridesmaids preparing for the day ahead including photographs of the dress, shoes and little details.

Couples who decide to hold their ceremony at Beamish Hall have a few options available to them. The elegant Shaftoe Hall seems to be the most popular choice and is ideal for getting shots of the proceedings from the front (I can hide behind one the columns in front of the fireplace) while David can shoot another perspective from the back of the room.

Following the ceremony weather permitting drinks and canapes will be served outside. If the weather is not so kind the Monboucher bar or winter gardens are ideal for relaxed shots of the Bride and Groom mingling with their guests. This is also a chance to get some family group shots and some portraits of the newlyweds.

Wherever you hold your wedding breakfast the spacious light-filled room allow us to get some great shots of the speeches and reactions from the guests.

After your meal is a great time to get a few more shots in the grounds including the picturesque walkway to the side of the winter gardens when the sun is lower in the sky.

Still with time to relax you now have the cake cut and first dance to look forward to. Again whether in the Winter Gardens or Monboucher room there is plenty of space for us to document the beginning of the evening celebrations.

Our experience and skill along with our knowledge of the venue and its wonderful staff have given us the opportunity to photograph many wonderful Beamish Hall weddings.
